FOR: 3rd-8th Grade Boys & Girls, High School and Adult

LOCATION: Schilberg Park, Milton, WI (High Street, across from Milton High School)

ENTRY: $100 per team.

AWARDS: First place team in each division will receive awards

TOURNAMENT DAY CHECK IN: Please check in at registration desk located at Schilberg Park Pavilion

ALL entries are due by Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Tournament is double elimination. Teams are guaranteed 3 games.

RULES

General

  1. Teams must be at their court 5 minutes before game time or forfeit may result.
  2. Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Tournament format may vary by division based on the number of teams entered.
  3. Teams may consist of 3 or 4 players.
  4. Officials will be provided for all games.
  5. Scorekeeper will need to be provided by teams.
  6. No stalling is permitted.
  7. Players may only appear on one team roster.
  8. 29.5" ball to be used for following divisions: 7th Grade Boys, 8th Grade Boys, High School Boys, High School Co-Ed, Adult Men, Adult Co-Ed.  All other divisions will use 28.5" ball.
  9. Coaches will be allowed to make substitutions during games.  NO coaching during the game.  NO timeouts except for injury.
  10. No jewelry is to be worn during play (earrings, necklaces, bracelets).
  11. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will result in dismissal.  This includes, but not limited to excessive complaining to the referee, rough play and abusive language.
  12. The tournament may refuse any participants entry for any reason.
  13. Referees decisions are FINAL.

 
Scoring / Gameplay

  1. Coin flip will determine first possession of each game.
  2. Games will be played to 21 points, win by 1, or a 20 minute time limit.  Each basket counts as 1 point.  "3 point shot" counts as 2 points.
  3. Ball must be “checked” and then “passed in” after each basket scored and any dead ball from "check box" at the rear of court. 
  4. No face guarding the "check box".  Defense must stay maintain least 3 feet back from "check box" until ball is in play.
  5. No “Make it take it”.  The ball changes possession after each scored basket.
  6. With each change of possession, ball must be taken back anywhere behind the 3 point line.  Both feet must be behind the 3 point line.
  7. In a Jump Ball scenario, possession goes to the defense.

 
Fouls

  1. All fouls will be called by referees.  Fouls 1-7 will result in possession at the top of key, with “check” and then “pass into play”, unless fouled in act of shooting.
  2. For team fouls 8+, team will be awarded 1 point, and retain possession of the ball.
  3. A foul committed in the act of shooting, will result in offensive team being awarded 1 point.  If the basket is made, the offensive team will ALSO receive the corresponding point(s).
  4. Flagrant and intentional fouls called by the referee will result in a 1 point awarded and the team retains possession of the ball.


Overtime

  1. In case of a tie after regulation, an untimed OT period will be played. 
  2. Possession in OT determined by coin flip.
  3. First team to score 3 points wins.
